JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Strategic Analyst is responsible for providing support to Customer Operations, Safety & Technical Training through, analytics, project management, research and testing to drive innovative solutions for our core business and assist with reducing the quantity and severity of human error events. This position possesses the knowledge of complex business environments with the aim to drive business process improvements and system solutions to ensure the success of Customer Experience, Safety and Training. This role will focus on end-to-end business process improvements; function technically as well as analytically; and partner cross functionally at all levels of the organization to support and implement business aligned solutions and applications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years combined experience with utilities or other related experience.
  • Understanding of the utility industry and business practices for Field Operations, Customer Experience, or Technology preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience analyzing financial/operational metrics and business processes, financial modeling, budgeting, or forecasting.
  • Comprehensive use of business-related systems (i.e. CIS, CSS, CMA, CCB, etc.) preferred
  • 5+ years of professional demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand and simplify complex subjects.
  • Demonstrated comfort level in engaging with business leaders at various levels concerning their organizational goals, needs and focus areas
  • Ability to understand the customers' needs and leverage existing and emerging technologies to create innovative solutions to best meet these needs.
  • Ability to assist in ideating, developing, and implementing strategies that enhance the employee and/or customer experience across all customer channels, including phone, web, mobile, social media, text, emails, chat, and other emerging digital technologies.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in highly cross-functional environments, engage diverse stakeholders, and translate significant information and varied points of view for opportunities for innovation that will impact customer services, and operations.
  • Expert use with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, etc.) and other presentation software; expert use of Power BI or related data dashboard applications is a plus


MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be responsible for the delivery of innovative solutions and business intelligence supporting strategic objectives and business operations across the Customer Operations, Safety & Technical Training organization and includes but is not limited to:

  • Administer analytical tracking and reporting processes of business metrics/procedures for internal use and regulatory compliance with respect to distribution and commercial operations.
  • Leverage analytical process data to formulate action items from interpretative results.
  • Gather, interpret, and format data and metrics for presentations for internal functions and external use.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of performance, including a review and analysis of trends and variances, provide an explanation of variances and perform comparisons, forecasts, and data validation.
  • Support system enhancements and new technology solutions projects on behalf of the business.
  • Ensure business processes and technology are aligned.
  • Identify, reconcile and create reports and analysis for business project activities.
  • Provide analytical and business support for the development of technical solutions.
  • Develop solutions to complex analytical/data-driven problems and effectively document and communicate process improvements as a result of trending the data for projects.

This is a hybrid position (2 days a week WFH and 3 days at the office)
