RAN System Architect
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the current and future engineering development, monitoring and analyzing of RAN Key Performance Indicator (KPI) statistics to identify performance issues and initiate corrective action. The duties of this position include utilizing several sources for cell site statistics and data (i.e., SQL/Oracle databases using a Microsoft Access front-end, Xynergy and Drive Data). In addition, this position will be responsible for developing reports (Power BI), processes and procedures to ensure the RAN network meets all defined KPI’s. This is a highly technical RAN role that includes configurations, integrations, troubleshooting and maintenance of existing network and implementations services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
· B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
· 10+ years’ experience using RAN Drive test and predictive tools, including NEMO, Atoll and Planet
· Define and scope acceptance test procedure on LTE/Volte/MCPTT/NB-IoT/eMBMS and RAN related projects.
· Understanding of Ericsson LTE product roadmap and system versions and how this relates to 3GPP standards
· Maintain documentation related to network, projects or services.
· Respond to customer inquiries on technical issues, requests and problems.
· Troubleshoot complex issues, investigate and resolve technical problems in existing networks.
· Work closely with Design/Support on troubleshooting issues/analyzing/providing logs (System level)
· Ability to understand advance/complex node features.
· Prepare/present reports for management on new products and features.
· Work closely with customers on various projects.
· Suggest resolution of complex technical problems within multiple domains.
· Ability to articulate and provide sound technical advice through deep analytical ability founded in technical knowledge and a solid data analysis skill.
· Lead technical discussions within multiple domains supporting pre-sales and customer engagements.
· Ensure credibility through specific insight of the network created through network analysis.
· Seen as a technical authority by internal engineering employees and customers

· Excellent oral & written communication skills
· In-depth knowledge of Microsoft computer applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Understanding of Advanced Calling (VoLTE), SIP, and the analysis of SIP messaging using NetScout.
· AMOS and CLI Scripting to support network maintenance, network expansion, layer management and other RAN configurations.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience with query and template creation for LTE/VoLTE KPI’s using Ericsson BO and common data lake front end
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, Develop, and Test Software features and configurations to adequately support all RAN services including NB-IoT, MCPTT and VoLTE
Design and steer RAN tools and process development of the configuration for all services including both LTE, VoLTE, and MCPTT. The MCPTT functions require the ability to determine procedures based on industry white papers and technical specifications.
Perform analysis of network KPI’s, troubleshoot issues, and be involved hands-on with day-to-day performance management/optimization functions for the RAN Network.
- Compile reports and perform in-depth technical analysis of data from multiple sources
- Open and track trouble tickets for site issues based on technical analysis
- Take corrective action to resolve site issues, which may include working with other departments and vendors to resolve software or hardware
Perform parameter audits, data-fill parameters, conduct pre/post analysis, and prepare performance reports.
Tool Scripting
- Oracle/Access database table/query/form/macro development and Xynergy scripting using Rules Development Language (RDL),
- Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboard views using the Anite Xynergy products.
