The Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner (APN/NP) works within the guidelines of a collaborative practice agreement with an active member of the medical staff of Northwestern Medicine. In partnership with physicians and other health care team members, the APN/NP assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates care for a specific patient population based on individual scope of practice. Through the application of evidenced-based decision making, the APN/NP serves as a leader, educator, researcher and clinical mentor to all members of the health care team with the goal of achieving optimal patient outcomes. The APN/NP practices utilizing the scope and standards of practice for the advanced practice nurse as published by the American Nurses' Association.
The Nurse Practitioner for this position works in the hospital setting, providing consult and other services on the medical floors, and is a collaborative member of the healthcare team providing psychiatric care to patients.
- Education and License requirements are validated through the credentialing process in Medical Staffing (MSN, RN lic, and APN Lic)
- Current Collaborative Practice Agreement with an active member of the medical staff at Northwestern Medicine.
