We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Field Technician to join our team in Boston, MA. The Field Technician will work closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects largely in urban environments.  This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals, and grow professionally.

Essential Functions – What You Will Do

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Provide construction quality assurance services on earthwork construction projects.
  • Complete daily field documentation reports.
  • Communicate daily with contractors in the field and project managers in the office.
  • Complete geotechnical and environmental field sampling, including subsurface exploration programs.

Competencies – What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience and/or an associate degree in civil engineering technology.
  • Experience providing geotechnical construction observation and associated field report documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
  • Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing MCP consulting services for urban development projects.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and health and safety training.
  • Nuclear density gauge certification and DOT HAZMAT training.

Position Type – What You Should Know

  • Full-time position.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible daily hours to meet contractor schedules.
  • Must reside in the United States.
  • Located in Boston, MA.
  • Local travel within the New England region is required.
