The Atlas, a platform of GovExec, is seeking a part-time Content Intern to join our team. The Content team leads the charge in writing and publishing city-focused case studies of successfully implemented local government projects. In this role, you will be a critical player in helping draft case studies in water, infrastructure, transportation, capital planning and budgeting, government technology, cybersecurity, equity and inclusion, sustainability, and more. As the Content Intern, you will report directly to the Content Marketing Manager.
This is a part-time (15 hours per week), paid internship that will run for eight weeks from the beginning of October through early December 2022. This is a remote opportunity and GovExec will provide a laptop for the duration of the internship.
About The Atlas:
The Atlas is a free online community for local government leaders to browse case studies, follow topics and crowdsource ideas and advice. The Atlas community, along with other GovExec brands (ie. Route Fifty), partners, and social media capture intent signals from local government leaders. The Atlas MarketEdge provides the intent signals, proprietary persona, and account insights to enable and accelerate businesses aiming to do business with state & local governments.
- Synthesize research, news articles and government websites into topic-specific content for a general audience
- Compose case studies on a weekly basis
- Optimize case studies for the web
- Content marketing and writing experience
- Interest in the state and local government market
- Strong writing and critical analysis skills
- Familiarity with SEO best practices
- Proficiency in Google Docs, familiarity with Notion is a plus
