We are looking for a Global Employment Payroll Specialist that will work with the Manager, Global Employment Organization (aka GEO) to support the payroll and accounting responsibilities in countries where the GEO is present and where payroll services are provided. It is critical the individual in this role has a payroll and accounting background, high level of accuracy, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment independently, and excellent time management skills. In addition, this person is a part of a team and will be expected to contribute ideas towards continuous improvement in systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and perform all phases of the payroll and timekeeping processes for supported countries,
  • Ensure a compliant payroll process in expanding countries,
  • Ensure the proper onboarding of new employees onto Workday, Concur and other systems,
  • Ensure that contracts of employment are collected and stored on the system of record,
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely,
  • Perform audit of payroll registers prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports,
  • Responsible for monthly accounting/reporting/closing activities related to payroll, expense and vendor payments in supported countries,
  • Process off cycle pay runs when required
  • Evaluate and recommendations opportunities to streamline payroll and accounting processes
  • Assist in payroll general ledger account reconciliations
  • Provide forecasted expenses to the accounting department as needed,
  • Work with the Manager, GEO to create Payroll Standard Operating Procedures and support stakeholder training and awareness,
  • Support the global mobility program and ensure mobility benefits are processed and taxed accordingly,
  • Collaborate with cross-function teams to help support payroll activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting from an accredited institution or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years' experience in Payroll/Accounting with a strong preference for International/cross border Payroll experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment independently under strict deadlines
  • The ability to act responsibility and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it's information for the company or for individuals
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing/re-prioritizing skills a must
