General Summary: Serve as a graphic designer on a wide range of projects, including promotional communications for print, digital and specialty advertising applications using a variety of design software in an instructional setting.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, with a minimum of four years of experience in corporate/nonprofit marketing and communications and/or in an agency setting; higher education experience preferred. Position requires a strong work ethic and occasional travel to other college locations.

 

Must be knowledgeable of the latest design technology and be proficient in working with the latest Adobe Create Suite software, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere, as well as MS Office products. Must possess extensive knowledge of the print production process.

 

Duties:

 

• Function as a graphic designer on graphic design projects. Oversee the creative development, design, redesign and production of a wide range of college-related communications, including marketing collateral, computer graphics, e-marketing and advertising pieces, college signage, logos and other branded materials, as well as videos and other electronic/digital projects.

• Manage, analyze and plan the framework of design according to the laid-out concept and established specifications of the project. Communicate and collaborate with the project's point of contact. Provide strong project management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills to work successfully with a diverse range of individuals and interests, including faculty members, administrators, printing houses, vendors and other external partners. Complete projects quickly, meet tight production deadlines and keep projects within budget.

• Serve as a designer for the Enrollment Services division. Oversee the use of new technology, techniques and processes in order to produce a high standard of design. Leverage creative and marketing knowledge to develop new creative campaigns for specific enrollment targets.

• Lead on protecting the integrity of the CCAC brand so that all parties adhere to the college's brand standards. Ensure that delivered products or services adhere to the policies and standards of the college. Serve as brand consultant to internal and external constituencies.

• Represent the Marketing & Public Relations Department at project design meetings, providing direction on a range of projects. Serve as design consultant for internal CCAC departments/individuals as well as for external partners.

• Plan and produce a multi-tiered, multi-project production schedule in order to keep all projects on track, on time and within budget parameters. Work with printing houses and outside designers and vendors, implementing quality control measures and negotiating pricing.

• Oversee the department's photo resource library. Responsible for sourcing and cataloging new stock and video images while managing existing image base. Procure freelance photography and videography images.

• Manage, train and mentor work-study and graphic design interns in the department. Assign projects, provide instruction in the latest design techniques and oversee all work to ensure projects stay on track and meet project objectives. Oversee work-study and intern orientation, work schedules and timecards.

• Perform other related duties as required or as assigned.

 

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
