The Role

GovExec is looking for a help desk technician to provide advanced technical assistance to our staff on technology issues.
This is a Hybrid-Remote position. While mostly remote, sometimes in-person support is necessary in our Washington D.C. office. The staffer should expect to spend 2-3 days a month in the office (or more if they choose).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal staff seeking technical assistance.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through remote control software. diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Provide accurate information on IT services.
- Respond to events / problems and record their resolution in helpdesk ticketing software.
- Follow-up and update customer status and information.
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate team.
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
- Configure user workstations and laptops.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a help desk technician or other IT customer support role.
- Experience with Windows and MacOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Linux operating system.
- Experience with iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
- Curiosity and a willingness to search for solutions to problems that you don’t know how to solve.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer-oriented.

The compensation range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
