The Inside Sales Rep Level I:

  • Is responsible for the achievement of Helmer's annual financial goals and profitable revenue growth as assigned within defined geographic quotas.
  • Establishes and maintains profitable relationships with new prospects and with existing customers to increase sales of Helmer products.
  • Manages and processes all local territory communications (opportunities, quotes, customer requests for information) and campaigns to prospect for new leads (email and phone) while complying with current pricing guidelines and management direction.
  • Sometimes assists with training of new sales personnel and provides guidance to Helmer Key Account Managers and distributor representatives servicing overlapping geographic areas.
  • Is eligible for a Sales Incentive Compensation Plan. Position requires reviews, checks, and supervision until experience is gained.


Relative Work Experience: Minimum 1-4 years of experience in sales environment (clinical diagnostic and life science experience preferred). International exposure and/or multi-lingual proficiency a plus.

Education: BS degree in related field.

Certifications / Licenses: None.

Computer Systems / Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with CRM preferred.

  • Strong negotiation skills and business acumen: able to negotiate pricing and price agreements with end users, purchasing agents, and executive stakeholders while remaining compliant with Helmer pricing guidelines.
  • Uses sales process: Follows effective management systems and procedures for growing territory sales.
  • Some limited travel to customer visits and tradeshows (<5% time).
