Southeast Gas has an immediate opening for an Installation Mechanic at its Enterprise Office.
Responsibilities for the job include:
• Installs gas piping in residences and commercial buildings related to specifications.
• Conducts change-outs (conversion) from electric systems to gas systems.
• Performs pressure testing of installed piping system.
• Reviews blue prints and other specifics for jobs.
• Performs repair work on heating and cooling equipment when necessary. Performs installation of venting as needed (vent water heaters and re-vent existing furnaces)
• Performs related work as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements for the job include:
• Basic knowledge of international fuel gas codes and of the properties of electricity.
• Maintain required operator qualifications.
• Ability to operate various hand tools (i.e., electric drill, pipe threader, amp meter, U gauge.), company vehicles, and to perform and understand basic functions of arithmetic.
• Ability to perform limited walking, work within confined spaces, to do extensive crawling, bending and stooping, and endure extensive riding.
• Ability to perform lifting and climbing.
