**This is a Full Time, salaried position at 40hrs per week located on the Lake Forest Hospital campus.**

The Certified Nurse Midwife reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

A Certified Nurse Midwife is a registered nurse (RN) and therefore, can perform all the duties that are considered routine duties of a R.N. In addition, a Certified Nurse Midwife holds a Masters degree in nurse midwifery. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions autonomously and collaborates with Obstetricians and other health care professionals to provide high quality, advanced nursing care to pregnant patients, manage healthcare systems and influence healthcare decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory- based practice.




  • Current license as a registered professional nurse in the state of Illinois.
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Certification as a Nurse Midwife.
  • Masters degree from an accredited school/college of nursing.
  • Successful completion of the certification examination given by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
  • Two years clinical experience in nurse midwifery.
