ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The OR Inventory Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsible for preparing, issuing, delivering, checking and documenting Materials Management managed equipment and supplies for Surgical Services. Manage all inventory in the operating room including but not limited to: Daily replenishment and order confirmation. Successfully troubleshoot issues regarding purchase orders, receipts, product loaners, credits, substitutes and stock outs. Routine assessments for expired, damaged and recalled supplies. Regular data analysis for product usage to right size inventory as necessary. PeopleSoft system maintenance for managed par locations. Prepare quarterly reviews for Surgical Services leadership to address no move inventory. Maintain physical par locations and ensure product is appropriated labeled. Conduct and prepare annual physical inventory reports. Work with customers, vendors and internal departments to maintain open communication and resolve inventory related issues (i.e. product changes, backorders etc.). Demonstrate flexibility to perform responsibilities, knowledge of routine policies and procedures and adherence to safety and infection control standards. Should possess strong communication, organization and analytic skills. Candidate should embody a patients first philosophy and adhere to the NMH code of ethics. AA/EOE.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High school diploma. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to lift or move 30lbs. 1-2 years experience in inventory experience. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Desired: Associate or Bachelor degree. 3+ years of medical supply inventory experience.
