JOB SUMMARY:

This position will report to the regional planning team leader and will be responsible for working closely with plant system owners, engineers, and contractors to accomplish planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordination of outage maintenance activities. This position will serve as the primary planner and scheduler for outage maintenance activities and support the coastal generating plants (Daniel, Watson, Chevron).

  • Build and update level 4, Project Execution, schedules in Primavera P6 for planned outages.
  • Perform outage schedule reviews with project leads.
  • Develop, forecast & track outage reports (pre-outage milestones, post-outage metrics and outage critiques, etc.).
  • Strive to achieve level 5 results on schedule related plant outage goals and their documentation for all Coastal Generation major outages.
  • Collaborate with planners, system owners, engineers, contract coordinators, and team leaders to ensure that P6 schedules reflect an accurate projection of the use of plant and contractor resources.
  • Manage offline planned PM maintenance strategy.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outage/Project planning and scheduling.
  • Power user of Maximo or comparable asset management program and Primavera or comparable scheduling program for planning and scheduling.
  • Extensive experience utilizing MRS, Tableau, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, etc.
  • Significant power plant experience, preferably in both maintenance and planning. Knowledge of generating plant technology, maintenance, and operations related to major outage and project activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely communications with other plant functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments, particularly with Operations, Maintenance, Fuels and Engineering.
  • Familiarity using multi-media/computer-based training resources is a plus.



JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability in scheduling activities within Primavera applications, preferably P6. Ability to build level 4, Project Execution, schedules in Primavera P6 or other scheduling software preferred.
  • Proficiency in leveling resources, daily updates, building sequence of events, and identifying critical path activities preferred.
  • Significant plant maintenance experience, preferably in both maintenance and planning.
  • Knowledge of generating plant technology, maintenance, and operations related to major outage and project activities.
  • System owner, construction, outage planning, or outage execution experience preferred.
  • Diverse experience with other utilities, construction, or other industries beneficial.
  • Knowledge of power plants and plant systems.
  • Ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long term strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to evaluate results, develop a follow-up plan, and achieve closure of projects.
  • Must possess superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively in teams with varied individuals (craft personnel, supervisory, staff, and management).
  • Well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.


Proficient in the use of the following computer software is required:

  • Word
  • Excel (Advanced Level including creating pivot tables, reports, etc. is a plus.)
  • PowerPoint


Proficient in the use of the following computer software is preferred:

  • Enterprise Solutions (Maximo, MRS, Oracle) is desired.
  • Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software is desired.
  • Proficient with the set up and use of databases is desired.
  • Tableau is a plus.
