Direct all project, support and process activities related to the PeopleSoft finance application and related applications used in financial reporting. Develop education programs as necessary to drive organizational development of application system analytical and reporting competencies. Participate in all major strategy, operations and project-related decisions for financial application management as required. Lead the FDC department in enhancing and maintaining the PeopleSoft Finance chartfield data (departments, accounts, business units, etc.) as well as other related financial reporting systems used in providing internal and external financial reports to all stakeholders.

Enhance and/or establish the necessary data governance standards on use of chartfields in PeopleSoft. Lead selection and/or development of appropriate organizational standards for financial reporting applications necessary to support organizational financial information needs. Assist Finance in enhancing organizational efficiency and competencies in processes and procedures necessary in financial transaction, analytical and reporting operations. Establish and execute effective and efficient communication mechanisms which enable continuous exchange of ideas and information among team members, other NMHC departments, NMHC management and vendor partners. Review, edit, and enhance work prepared by members of the Finance team. Maintain quality service standards as well as analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems, identify trends, and recommend and implement system improvements.

Monitor, measure and report customer service levels against agreed-upon performance standards. Meet departmental objectives by overseeing completion of the full range of department assignments. Establish department goals, forecast requirements, prepare annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the NM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, adopting and implementing industry best practices, and participating in professional societies. Protect operations by keeping financial and patient information confidential. Support the Northwestern Medicine finance operation as an integrated team leader. AA/EOE.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years progressive relevant experience in PeopleSoft ERP data management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues into key elements.
  • Leadership and flexibility managing relationships in large corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Functional knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting operations.
  • Accounting process experience (financial close, intercompany).
