The Coordinator, Billing is responsible for supporting all duties related to timely and accurate professional charge capture and billing. Scope of responsibility includes processing charges, reconciling charges, resolving edits, performing billing follow-up activities, and responding to business office and patient inquiries. Various administrative and clerical tasks required to support charge capture functions will also be required. Initiate professional billing charge capture for non-Ambulatory service areas. Initiate and monitor professional billing charge reconciliation for Ambulatory and non-Ambulatory service areas. Resolve appropriate pre-accounts receivable charge review and claim edits. Assist with patient inquiry resolution for professional charges. Participate in performance improvement initiatives to optimize operational and financial performance. Attend monthly Coding Team meetings. Respond timely to billing follow-up inquiries. Process charge corrections as appropriate. Manage annual coding material orders and accounts payable submission. Assist with onboarding of new practice clerical staff and participate in development of training materials for new and existing employees. EOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/Veterans. Required: Associates degree, approved Health Information Management program or 3 years of equivalent relevant experience in healthcare operations or and/or revenue cycle. Desired: Bachelors Degree in related field. Previous experience with physician billing is strongly preferred. Previous experience in a customer service role and in a healthcare setting.
