Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain highest quality, standards of food production and service to members
  • Train new and existing kitchen staff on preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes per the current catering menu
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to culinary standards and regulation
  • Knife Skills (Must be proficient in all fabrications of vegetables, meats, and seafood)
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Have a creative and innovative ability to come up with new features and menu items
  • High volume production, catering, and banquets preferred
  • Desire to learn and teach

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum Associates level degree, preferably in Culinary Arts or Business Administration
  • Track record of continued education in the food and beverage
  • Serve-Safe certifications required
  • Knowledge of Fine Dining trends and execution is critical
  • Management and mentoring of multiple staff levels
  • Knowledge of front of house operations in a club or fine dining restaurant
  • Three years or more of management experience


  • The club is looking for new Sous Chef to start immediately with a year round salary compensation range of $36,000 -$43,000, relocation, first year housing assistance, company incentive bonus, healthcare benefits, 401k, cell phone reimbursement, golf privileges and is a participant in the member thank you fund are just a few of the many benefits offered.

The enjoyment stretches far beyond access to one of Wisconsin's best championship golf courses. Relaxing on the patio at the Members' Clubhouse overlooking the waters of Green Bay; sitting back with a frosty beverage at Sonny's Saloon; taking a dip at the Beach Club pool; working out in the Fitness Center (and pampering yourself with a soothing massage); dining in casual elegance in FrankE's - against the spectacular backdrop of a Door County sunset. Since 2000, Horseshoe Bay Golf Club has provided Door County Vacationers and residents the private club experience May thru October (7 days a week and 5 nights a week) and November thru January 1st (2 nights a week.) Other than tastings or occasional events the Club is "dark" January 1st through the last week in April. The club currently has a membership of 486, 160 as social members representing 28 states. This beautiful club with multiple F&B outlets is profitable with a positive cash flow. The club is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who will assist the Executive Chef and is responsible for all food and pastry production including that served in the Member's Clubhouse, Murphy's Barn, Beach Club, Banquet areas, take out and any off site catering. Facility does $1,200,000 total F&B sales.
