Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

Provides full cycle human resources support to internal client groups at our Memphis Distribution Facility. Consults and partners with management to provide advice and counsels to ensure uniformity of HR Practices aligned with department and company objectives. Participates in implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs and day-to-day administration of HR processes with client groups.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units
  • Communicates needs proactively with our HR department and business management, and develop integrated solutions
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business groups, including understanding financial goals, mid-range and long-term strategic plans, culture and competition
  • Provides day-to-day onboarding and performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Identifies training needs for business groups, including assessing and executing individual coaching opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skillsStrong conflict management skills

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
