Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

Job Summary

Directs the coordination of technical and administrative support activities for servicing mechanical medical equipment at established repair locations. Manages individuals performing repair, preventative maintenance and service, and change upgrades for spine surgery products. Maintains communication with cross-functional teams in resolving technical problems and/or bringing problems to the design department's attention. Leads the operational area to improve safety, quality, service, and costs to ensure the efficient operation of servicing equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs and creates key business metrics including cost, quality, safety and service agreements
  • Creates procedures and guidelines to ensure a high level of operational excellence and customer service with external customers
  • Deploys assistance to the Instrument Servicing team to ensure productivity measures are met and maintained
  • Creates operational improvements to meet quality, productivity and cost efficiencies
  • Manages back office related logistics / operational and customer related issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • Knowledgeable about medical device servicing requirements: Regulatory (FDA), Industry Standards (ISO, ASTM, IPC), Business (SOP, WI, DP, DWG, PSP)
  • Skilled in installing, assembling, configuring, & maintaining PC/electrical devices
  • Skilled in properly and safely diagnosing, resolving, and documenting common hardware and software issues
  • Certified solderer and/or electronic assembly inspector
  • Proven leadership and team building experience including the ability to effectively drive change to drive the business forward

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent experience
  • Training and/or experience in Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and 5S

Travel and/or Physical Requirements

Up to 25%
