Supply Chain Technician - Materials Management, Casual, Rotating

Admits and inspects all supplies and equipment delivered to central stores. Enters requisitions and receiving information into the materials management information system. Delivers incoming materials, supplies and equipment to user departments as directed, or as scheduled. Coordinates all returns with the user departments. Rotates stock as necessary. Restocks user department carts and shelves. Takes periodic inventories to verify the accuracy of the computer system. Performs annual inventory. Establishes and maintains quality control standards in the department. Decontaminates supplies and equipment in accordance with institutional, departmental and regulatory agency requirements. Ensures patient care equipment is available on patient floors when needed and is in proper working order. Ensures sterility and infection control while handling all supplies and equipment. Assists in obtaining random emergency or unusual supplies. Assists patient care staff identifying supply needs and available alternatives. Process outgoing mail for delivery to US post office and presort service. Process all campus inter-office mail which includes off-site facilities / sort for courier service routes. Maintain accurate records as required. Replenish postage for postage machine as needed. Responsible for documenting receipt of supplies and equipment shipped to the Receiving Department with a valid NMHC purchase order number, distributing these packages to requesting department, documenting acceptance within PeopleSoft and handling refusals. Processes all necessary documentation such as packing slips, bills of lading and receiving reports so payment for goods can be authorized. Informs purchasing or order specialists regarding any discrepancies such as damaged goods, short or over-shipments. Maintains a safe working environment on the Receiving Dock. Maintaining proper techniques in handling of heavy loads, volatile or flammable liquids and cases. Observes that walkways and flooring in the Receiving area are free of debris and/or liquids. Coordination of vehicular traffic entering and leaving dock areas. Ensures compliance with safety and security standards. AA/E QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Good communication skills.
