Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads the billing process and account maintenance of assigned accounts
  • Assists customers with questions regarding billing statements, policies, and processes
  • Tracks backlog of unbilled loads, working closely with the Billing Specialists and assisting where needed to ensure timely billing
  • Generates reports and analysis to provide clear, reliable data while working closely with various teams to ensure internal and external needs are met
  • Ensures the delivery of accurate, timely bills to customers and provides effective, easy ways for customers to pay their bills
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the other Billing Specialist's accounts & Asset Recovery teammates to assist with escalations
  • Coordinates and confirms accuracy of processes throughout
  • Collaborates with various teams to ensure accurate data, updated rates, appropriate bill messaging and management of payment channels
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • Excellent technology skills and aptitude to learn customer information systems
  • E ffective listening and communication skills with an ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to translate and compile complete billing data and analysis to management
  • Clear understanding of the associated impacts with regards to revenue collection, payment channels, customer accounts and customer deposits
  • Ability to represent company when communicating with customers and vendors

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
