Responsible for all tooling in the Press/Extrusion Department.




  • Analyze and improve tooling packages, diagrams, drawings and develop standards.
  • Leads and executes process improvement initiatives including process methods and practices that will enhance tooling life cycle and reduce tooling cost.
  • Monitor tooling life cycle and proactively driving tooling process.
  • Leads tooling replacement program.
  • Ensures tooling meets drawing and print requirements.
  • Supports the shop floor during new product launch periods, by monitoring and validating the functionality of tooling package.
  • Offers technical support and assistance, as needed.
  • Leads initiatives to reduce waste and achieve continuous improvement standards.
  • Responsible for lean manufacturing initiatives to improve safety, reduce cycle times, improve productivity and capacity.
  • Improves customer satisfaction with respect to on-time delivery yields and quality.
  • Develops, maintains and deploys work standards for processes.
  • Works with Quality and Production to help ensure operator training and proficiency.
  • Manages and executes engineering change control process within the guidelines of the existing quality system requirements.
  • Participates in 5s Events and Kaizen related events
  • Participate in Team meetings of Maintenance Team Members and Cross Functional Teams as directed.

  • High school/GED is required, Bachelor’s Degree or Technical degree is preferred.
  • 5 year of manufacturing experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates/Licenses/Registration: Forklift certification, Crane Certification,

Technology and Equipment: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of:

  • Windows operating systems & programs
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3D Modelling Tools (Autocad, Pro/E, Solidworks)
  • CMM experience is a plus

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and stored energy in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and gravitational energy. The noise level in the work environment is above 85 dcB and hearing protection is required. Due to manufacturing technologies utilized in the area common contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil steel chips and water will be present. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. Also may be exposed to fumes or dust.
