AbilityLinks Virtual Job Fair Monday, October 4 - Friday, October 8

September 1, 2010, Wheaton, IL – AbilityLinks.org, the job opportunity website for persons with disabilities and inclusive employers, will be hosting a week-long virtual job fair in October.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and AbilityLinks is honoring NDEAM by hosting their virtual job fair October 4 – October 8. This week-long online recruiting event will be accessible 24 hours a day and is free to both job seekers and employers. Opportunities are available for employers to become Featured Employers or for non-exhibiting companies to sponsor the event. Further information is available online.

Exhibiting employers will receive a virtual booth, company profile page and unlimited job postings with links to their preferred online application page. Job seekers will be able to post various styles of their resume, tailoring them to specific areas of interest and submit their AbilityLinks resumes directly to employers. Job seekers and employers will also have the opportunity to participate in live chat sessions. Because the career fair is online, it’s convenient for both employers and job seekers to attend by eliminating any costs, hardships and additional time associated with travelling to in-person job fairs.

“Marianjoy’s commitment to persons with disabilities goes beyond physical rehabilitation and education,” notes Kathleen Yosko, President and CEO of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and AbilityLinks Steering Committee Co-Chair. “These virtual job fairs allow for great networking opportunities as well as access to meaningful job opportunities. That’s why I am excited about this event. We are expecting an even greater turnout from previous job fairs and hope to connect disabled individuals with businesses who have open positions to fill.”

AbilityLinks also offers a mentoring program which connects job seekers with an established working professional for input and encouragement in their job search.
