Advertising at Amazon is growing incredibly fast and as a seasoned Engineer on the PV Ads Monetization team, you will build new ads format that will help drive revenue growth within Prime Video while enhancing the viewership experience.
Successful candidates have 5+ years of non intern software development experience on distributed systems using AWS products. Experience programming using AWS services and at least one software programming language on Java/React/RUST.
You will have a strong problem-solving and technical abilities, great communication skills, a motivation to learn, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment with excellent analytical reasoning skills.
Key job responsibilities
- You design long term architecture and use technical data points to build consensus across PEs and other engineering leaders.
- You play the role of tech advisor/partner to leaders like PMTs, SDMs, TPMs and help develop solutions despite technical ambiguity to defined business problems.
- You are a significant contributor to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment and maintenance of the team's software. You perform code review and provide meaningful feedback to other SDEs.
- You are raising the bar for team's operational and engineering excellence initiatives and ensure the root causes of operational issues are identified and promptly resolved.
- You work with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand the business and customer value of your team’s software in order to ensure you deliver the right solutions.
- You document what your team’s software does; how it is constructed, tested, and operated;
- Your work focuses on delivering software features and improvements to major portions of your team’s software.
- You actively mentor other engineers on your team.
- You design software solutions to enable new features or improve software.
- You effectively make priority tradeoffs between new feature development and operational work.
- You bring clarity to problems and identify simple designs for solutions.
- Perform experimentation and proof of concept that helps make data driven decisions and build new products with confidence.
A day in the life
- Understand business requirements, HLDs, LLDs and design them if one doesn't exists.
- Actively participate in team mechanisms such as standups, sprint planning, story grooming & provide project updates etc..
- Write software code, debug and fix issues in code and update documentation.
- Support oncall activities per team roster.
