Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative communications professional to join our Grocery Communications team. This individual will play a critical role in keeping our frontline managers and hourly employees informed and engaged as they deliver a great experience for customers. This individual will develop comprehensive communication plans to share announcements, maintain standard weekly communication channels, and create high-quality content and campaigns to engage our grocery teams. This individual will also support issues management and respond to reactive media inquiries.
A successful candidate possesses excellent writing skills, project management experience, a talent for collaboration, external and internal communications experience, and the capacity to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately. A successful candidate will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts, and driving alignment across cross-functional teams. Creativity and flexibility are a must.
Key job responsibilities
• Plan and execute proactive announcements and related activities.
• Develop internal content with clear, tailored narratives to engage employees across various operational areas.
• Manage issues and brand reputation related to the Amazon grocery business.
• Be the employee experience advocate, representing and protecting this through all strategies and decision-making.
• Work quickly and precisely under tight deadlines, and prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time.
• Work closely with HR, Operations, program management, and other internal groups to cohesively approach projects and activities.
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges.
• Develop and manage relationships with a range of media contacts, both local and national.
• Improve processes with new ideas and tools that are shared across team members.
About the team
This role sits on the Worldwide Grocery Stores Comms team, focused on Amazon's grocery efforts across delivery and stores. This role will work with many Comms teams across Amazon, including corporate communications, Ops Internal Comms, consumer campaigns, physical retail technology, and community engagement.
