GVM (Global Vendor Management) is an invite-only program offered to Amazon’s most globally significant vendors, with the goal of growing our worldwide mutual business while reducing mutual costs. We are a global business development team, seeking a customer-obsessed individual with excellent business judgement to execute our joint growth plan with GVM vendors and Amazon Business, Amazon's fast-growing B2B platform. This a highly visible role, working with vendor executives and Amazon teams across multiple locales, and your work will directly impact how we evolve and grow Amazon’s global business.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated track record of excellent business judgment in high stakes, ambiguous business contexts
- Executive communication skills (written, verbal) and presence
- Track record of earning trust with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of an organization
- Demonstrated ability to learn new businesses and industries
- Prior experience: management consulting, entrepreneurship (starting your own company), investment banking, product or program management, retail vendor management, engineering
- Ability to travel internationally (~10%)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with Amazon and vendors’ senior leadership to support business objectives
- Identifying the most impactful, incremental business opportunities for your vendors across total global Amazon
- Working closely with Amazon teams and leadership across all countries and organizations to pursue those opportunities
- Understanding opportunities using data, your close internal and external working relationships, and your knowledge of vendors’ global and local businesses
- Identifying and gaining alignment on the most logical path to overcome opportunity blockers, by looking around corners and finding practical/creative solutions
- Independently authoring documents, emails, and presentations for senior leadership
