The WW Amazon Private Brands Marketing Organization seeks an experienced and highly motivated Lead Packaging Designer to drive packaging design for our flagship brand, Amazon Basics. The successful candidate will join a global creative team of designers, production designers, copywriters, and design program managers who bring talent, expertise, and customer obsession to create compelling and memorable brands that customers love and prefer. The Lead Packaging Designer will conceptualize and execute hardlines and consumables packaging from start to finish. They will enhance customer experiences and elevate packaging design standards by delivering high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions. The role includes managing creative adaptation with our external agency partners. The ideal candidate must work independently, balance competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with Creative Directors, Designers, and cross-functional partner teams.
The ideal candidate has a strong design background with a passion for contemporary brands. They have experience building packaging design systems for consumer brands from scratch. Through their experience, they demonstrate the ability to deliver the highest quality packaging design and operate at scale. They have a high degree of ownership and integrity, and are a strong problem solver with the ability to think critically. They are an expert working with various design tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma. They are willing and capable of exploring and utilizing new design technologies to improve speed of execution and production.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead packaging design across the Flagship Amazon Brand, Amazon Basics, both internally and with our external creative agencies
• Lead the strategic packaging development of net-new product launches across our product portfolios
• Collaborate with and lead external creative agencies to scale adaptive packaging design across a wide portfolio of products
• Drive packaging design and imaging improvements based on data and insights
• Mentor and guide designers within print and digital design development processes
