The Amazon Device Software and Services team is looking for a software engineer interested in working on large scale and highly available systems. Our team owns both the device and service components that allow data to flow between devices and the Amazon cloud.
Our engineers are top-notch software developers who love listening to the customers, working as a team, and proactively taking the lead on complex software problems. A successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions that have the potential to impact hundreds of millions customers around the world. In this role, you will have an opportunity to own design and development of key parts of services. You will have influence on subsystem design and help build a team culture around practices that are critical to a quality product.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for:
• Designing, implementing and launching high-quality software systems to solve complex problems with big impact
• Working across a broad range of AWS technologies to build full-stack web applications, distributed systems software and automation workflows
• Developing code for a broad range of Amazon Devices.
• Collaborating with a diverse range of cross-functional roles, including engineering, product, customers and business stakeholders across the company
• Promoting a culture of engineering excellence by establishing best practices and technical standards across the organization
• Consulting with engineers from across the organization on architecture and design of new systems to solve some of our hardest engineering problems
A day in the life
During the day-to-day, a DCS SDE:
• Communicates with other business teams in E-Reader/Tablet/FireTV/Alexa to name a few.
• Collects the business requirements,
• Helps describe software product features,
• Builds technical designs and architecture.
• Writes code with at most care for customer's data security and customer's privacy.
