Come help Amazon create and deploy new technologies to help deliver packages to the customer door step! As a Systems Development Engineer in the Last Mile Technology team, you will be instrumental in helping us create innovative ways to get packages delivered quickly and cost-effectively to the customer. The Last Mile Technology team supports multiple businesses globally, creating the technology that supports deliveries for businesses such as Prime Now, Amazon Flex, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Logistics, and other current and new initiatives.
Last Mile REALM is at the heart of the high availability of Services. We make customer impacting events shorter and less frequent by providing large scale event and incident management. Our automated tooling quickly identifies the cause of an issue and helps mitigate its impact, and much of our engineer time is spent on projects to improve the tooling and automation. It's an exciting time to join our team as we are rapidly growing and expanding our offerings.
As a System Development Engineer on the team you will build tooling to automate the detection and resolution of issues within Last Mile and Amazon infrastructure. You will also spend a portion of your time directing the resolution of high visibility incidents by leading conference calls. Using data learned from those incidents you will drive further improvements into our automation, tooling, and processes so that the next event is shorter or avoided entirely. You will participate on project teams to expand use of our tooling to additional areas across Amazon. If you're looking for a team with great growth potential and an opportunity to make a huge impact, this is the team to join.
Last Mile Technology extensively leverages Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure including Dynamo DB, S3, EC2, SQS, ECS and a combination of Python, Java and C++ on Linux.
