Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a junior attorney with a strong regulatory or sustainability background to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS provides cutting edge cloud computing services and IT infrastructure to public and private customers around the globe, including on-demand compute capacity, data storage, machine learning, and more. The role is part of a global team responsible for counseling AWS on a broad range of sustainability, products regulatory compliance, health & safety, environmental, and trade issues across AWS’s diverse array of infrastructure hardware supply chains and global data center footprint.
You will advise on strategic projects and programs, working directly with business functions including sustainability, supply chain, procurement, engineering, product, and operations. You will support AWS customer-facing sustainability programs and compliance with mandatory ESG reporting. You will collaborate with attorneys across the globe (and throughout Amazon) to develop innovative solutions. You will provide day-to-day guidance on existing and emerging regulations, and advise on trends including in new areas of law.

Key job responsibilities
• Counseling on current and emerging sustainability and ESG due diligence and reporting frameworks and policy engagement strategies;
• Providing advice on regulations concerning the design, development, manufacture, procurement, distribution, use and disposition of data center equipment;
• Providing compliance-related legal support for operation activities at AWS facilities globally;
• Monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes; and
• Formulating, implementing, and maintaining applicable regulatory compliance policies and processes.
