Job Description Summary:
This role is responsible for project management and fulfillment of community events including but not limited to managing timelines, financials, logistics, and community partners. The role will collaborate with internal stakeholders in addition to managing the request for proposal (RFP) process, negotiating contracts, planning, and executing logistics, while managing budgets for BCBSA community impact events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary contact for community impact events, facilitating the planning, documentation, vendor management, project management, financials, community partners and internal coordination.
Manage RFPs, lead planning meetings, outreach and securing community partners, handle onsite logistics and retrieve reports to evaluate and assess related data.
Complete program close-out tasks, integrate external vendor partners, maintain databases, and coordinate with internal partners.
Research relevant industry information to present findings and make recommendations for BCBSA that incorporate changing best practices and the current environment,
Assist Conference & Events team with data and reporting.
Required Education, Certifications and Experience:
Education:
- Required: Bachelors Degree
Required Experience:
Five or more years' in an event management role overseeing large and/or complex community events
Experience with project management to include budget oversight
Deep experience with contract negotiations
Established relationships in the non-profit industry
Experience with virtual and hybrid event planning and execution
Experience managing stakeholder expectations at all levels
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Microsoft Office proficiency to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Comfortable with new software applications, ability to learn new products quickly
Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities
Strong time management capabilities
Fluidity to pivot as needed; change is inevitable
Strong communication capabilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong contract negotiation skills
