An Accountant II is responsible for supporting the financial department by preparing financial reports, analyzing accounting data, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with audits. This position requires strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple financial tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist in maintaining general ledgers, ensuring transactions are recorded and balances are reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy.
2. Perform month-end close process/tasks, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations/analysis in line with the monthly and quarterly close schedules.
3. Fixed asset administrator.
4. Assist in project administration, including coordinating billing and accounts payable, as well as ongoing revenue and cost analysis.
5. Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports.
6. Contribute to quarterly/annual SEC financial reporting.
7. Provide support for coordination with division finance management for the annual budget process and monthly forecast updates.
8. Comply with internal controls/SOX activities for corporate close process.
9. Provide support for internal & external audit requests.
10. Suggest, support and implement department and ERP system process improvement projects.
11. Maintain chart of accounts and business unit structure in Hyperion.
12. Assist with special projects and financial support as needed.
