The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team is a project management and execution team that manages construction activity within the operational data center spaces. The CPI team is tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space, power, and cooling within operational data centers around the globe. These activities are outside of the scope of standard construction delivery and regular preventative maintenance tasks.
The CPI Data Center (DC) Project Engineer is to serve as support to our DC Project Managers. They will partner with a team of DC Project Managers for specific tasks as assigned on a per project basis. They will own and execute repeatable standard work and typical CPI (non-initiative) projects from start to closeout. Quick thinking, flexibility, and adaptability are key requirements for this role to evolve with changing demands and priorities.
We are currently seeking a Data Center (DC) Project Engineer to be part of a creative, efficient team tasked with increasing Data Center capacity and ensuring availability for our customers. Projects include the improvement of electrical, mechanical, structural and building automation systems. Elementary knowledge of these systems and the ability to support the coordination, direction and implementation of these efforts will be key to your success. You will be required to work both independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
The Data Center (DC) Project Engineer responsibilities include:
• Communicating with CPI Leadership and stakeholders for tasks/projects as assigned.
• Providing on site vendor oversite and coordination.
• Writing and submitting technical vendor method of procedures (MOPs) for approval.
• Writing and submitting project funding and vendor purchase requests.
• Managing small repeatable projects independently
• Updating project management and scheduling platforms.
• Coordinating and scheduling job site walks and/or meetings with stakeholders.
• Facilitate the asset tagging process by working with vendors and the EAM team.
• Creation of Projects in Amazon’s PM software platform
• Submit closeout documents
• Project closeout support, including creating and facilitating the final handoff in the Approval tool.
• CPI Dashboard Monitoring. Regularly monitor CPI dashboards and assist PMs in cluster with remediation.
• Offer logistics support, including equipment relocation, removal of equipment, tracking procurement status through collaboration with procurement teams, and other supporting tasks.
• Submit for new hire laptops, badges, and other tasks to support a new CPI hire.
• Submitting change announcements.
