Based on the NMH framework for practice, the registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned group of patients that includes diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing, the Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Social Policy Statement. As a member of the clinical care and unit team, the RN participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve exceptional outcomes and enhance unit operations.

Responsibilities:
- Performs emergent or scheduled urgent procedures during on-call hours (8pm- 7:30a, weekends and holidays) when scheduled on call
- Provide on call coverage as scheduled
- Preform apheresis procedures in both ambulatory and inpatient settings
- Assess patients pre, during and post procedures and therapies to observe mild, moderate and severe Apheresis and non-Apheresis related complications and notifying the appropriate provider to escalate care
- Delivers evidence based safe and effective care in a timely manner
- Accurately documents all pertinent procedure information in Epic
- Ensures all consents and education have been completed prior to initiating a procedure or therapy
- Responsible for ensuring equipment preventative maintenance is current prior to use, disinfect machine, room surfaces and equipment necessary for patient care according to policy
- Assist with inventory control process
- Maintain safe, neat and adequately stocked supplies in patient rooms
- Responsible for completing daily tasks when assigned in a timely manner
- Acts as a resource for other staff
- Assist with training of newer staff
- Review and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements for standard of care procedures and clinical trials
- Utilizing assistive devices for patient care
- Position involves moving of patients and/or equipment
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care and adapt to changes in assignment in response to new and urgent cases
- Responsible for successful completion of initial and annual trainings and competencies in cellular therapies, apheresis procedures, department services, and clinical trials
- Independently preform cellular therapy collections and infusions
- Demonstrate ability to maintain chain-of-custody and chain-of-identity when handling and managing products involving human tissue
- Preform other duties as assigned
