Within GREF, the Customer Insights team represents the voice of the Amazonian throughout the workplace journey. We surface insights that help GREF deliver a workplace experience that enables Amazonians to do their best work while at the office.
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Research Scientist to join our growing Global Customer Insights team. As a Research Scientist in GREF, you will play an integral part in the measurement and optimization of the Amazon workplace. You will have the opportunity to work with large datasets, including sentiment related data and space utilization sensor data, to enable a holistic understanding of the Amazonian experience and how the office is currently supporting needs.

Given the complex nature of the questions we are working on, the ideal candidate will be relentlessly curious and be able to/be interested in having the business conversation underlying the data.
Key job responsibilities
- Adapt and develop new research methodologies to accelerate and advance discovery of customer insights.
- Solve real-world problems by analyzing large amounts of operational, behavioral, and sentiment-based data, diving deep to identify business insights and opportunities, designing simulations and experiments, developing statistical models, classification algorithms, clustering techniques, network analysis by tailoring to business needs, and collaborating with UX Researchers, Scientists, BIEs, and Product/Program Managers.
- Write code (Python, R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.) to analyze data and build innovative statistical and machine learning models to drive workplace experience improvements.
- Translate business problems into specific analytical questions and form hypotheses that can be answered with available data using scientific methods or identify additional data needed in the master datasets to fill any gaps.
- Retrieve, analyze, synthesize, and present historical data in a format that is immediately useful to answer specific questions, improve system performance, or support decision making.
- Conduct written and verbal presentation to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.
- Proactively seek to identify business opportunities and insights and provide solutions to shape key business processes and policies based on a broad and deep knowledge of Amazon data, industry best-practices, and work done by other teams.
