As a Network Development Engineer at Project Kuiper, you will lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical enterprise networks supporting our manufacturing facilities, research labs, launch sites, and mission operations centers worldwide. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure across multiple global locations.

- Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques

- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations
A day in the life
Your day begins reviewing network monitoring alerts across manufacturing facilities and mission operations centers. You'll analyze traffic patterns and capacity needs for the factory floor while planning network expansion for new lab spaces. You will participate in the deployment of network solutions for upcoming launch sites, contract manufacturing partners, and testing facilities. You will coordinate with vendors on WAN circuit installations, troubleshoot routing issues affecting production systems, and mentor team members on complex network deployments. You'll participate in change management meetings, schedule maintenance windows, and document network modifications. Throughout the day, you'll handle escalations from manufacturing teams, validate network security controls, and ensure high availability across all sites. The role requires balancing immediate operational needs with strategic planning and improvement of processes and procedures in order to maintain network reliability for mission-critical operations.
This is an on-site role that requires employees to work from the company's office 5 days per week. Remote work is not an option for this position. The role will include up to 25% of business travel.
