Job Description

The Acupuncture Therapist, in consultation with the patient’s primary care physician, administers acupuncture treatment for patients. This position works closely with the medical director to ensure that patient assessments and treatment plans are consistent with established clinical guidelines and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains a thorough medical history for new patients and performs a physical examination.
- Organizes information into clusters, identifies patterns of disharmony/disturbances in organs, devises a treatment plan.
- Administers acupuncture treatment, recommends herbal formulas, evaluates effects of treatment, makes modifications/adjustments, and provides follow-up visits.
- Collaborates with management to support marketing and program development initiatives (workshops, interviews, article writing).
- Attends and actively participates in 75% of case management presentations and presents at least one clinical case every six months.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed Acupuncture (IL).
- Diploma or certificate of completion from a fully accredited college of Chinese medicine.
- Current malpractice insurance.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
