Job Summary: Identifies opportunities for business expansion in support of the customer sales strategy. Develops and maintains the business relationship by providing solutions for defined account(s) in a product line, to achieve the identified strategy and business financial objectives. Supplier Business Manager – Roles & Responsibilities · Primary Liaison for Key Suppliers – Serves as the main point of contact for designated suppliers, fostering strong partnerships and alignment. · Supplier Engagement Management – Schedules, coordinates, and documents office hours with suppliers to ensure clear and consistent communication. Create shared trackers (MS Teams) with suppliers to ensure ownership and follow up with Avnet and supplier. · Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) – Prepares QBRs, documents key takeaways, and tracks action items to drive accountability. · Supplier Performance Management – Collaborates with Account Managers and FAEs to ensure supplier expectations and performance metrics are met, acting as an extension of the management team. · Market Differentiation Strategy – Works closely with local suppliers and Reps to identify and implement unique strategies that enhance Avnet’s market position. · Corporate Initiative Alignment – Partners with the DSD team to drive local actions that support corporate goals and supplier objectives. · Training and Development – Manages training schedules and content for assigned suppliers to ensure the sales and technical teams are well prepared to drive demand creation efforts. · Technical Engagement & Enablement – Supports RTM and technical staff in organizing workshops and events that promote supplier success. · Performance Tracking & Reporting – Maintains a scorecard for key suppliers and delivers monthly/quarterly reports to track progress, identify trends, and align strategies with business goals. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may serve as team lead and help develop colleagues' and customers' understanding. Has autonomy to set and negotiate product/service terms; plans own territory or account approach. Collaborates with team and leadership. Has direct contact with clients and decision makers; participates in team sales for major accounts. Leads the negotiations on medium-sized, complex accounts; plans own territory or account approach. Works within broad guidelines and policies to develop business with new and existing customers Work Experience: Minimum experience required is typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. It's possible for a career salesperson to plateau for many years at this level. Education and Certification(s): Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
