Salary Range:
$174,000.00 - $226,000.00
As the Product Design Manager of the Drive and Land Traffic team, you will champion user-centered approaches to significantly improve how we attract and guide potential buyers to Etsy. You will lead a team in designing and optimizing user journeys that not only drive traffic from offsite but also seamlessly connect our offsite and onsite experiences, converting interest into meaningful engagement. This role requires a deep understanding of UX principles, conversion rate optimization (CRO) methodologies, and the ability to leverage data and user insights to create intuitive and effective experiences. Marketing and channel understanding experience is a huge plus. You will be responsible for ensuring that every touchpoint, from initial awareness to final conversion, is user-friendly, persuasive, and aligned with our brand.
This is a full-time position reporting to our Senior Product Design Director for Growth. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Product Design Managers at Etsy are charged not only with being outstanding people-managers, but also as core strategic drivers. This person will be trusted to set a broad vision, define how teams work towards that vision, and hold teams to a high quality-bar. As a senior leader in the design team, you will also help shepherd the culture and quality of our Product Design organization.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Partner with PM, UXR, Eng, and Data functions to set the vision for both inspirational and evaluative recommendations across the Etsy product.
Directly manage a small team of senior Product Designers.
Together with your partners, own Etsy’s global personalization and recommendations experience.
Guide your individual squads on developing roadmaps that align to a broader vision and business goals.
Facilitate unified design solutions with design leaders on other initiatives.
Engage with your team’s work at all stages (product strategy through launch) to ensure a high bar for excellence.
Collaborate with the other Product Design leaders to continuously cultivate and grow our entire org.
Of course your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.
Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
4+ years proven experience leading and managing design teams.
A consistent track record of shipped work that demonstrates a strong understanding of design fundamentals, including visual hierarchy, interaction design, and the application of brand and system principles.
Experience working on ecommerce, marketplaces, or feed-based products is ideal.
A strong portfolio demonstrating how you have set vision and guided your team on execution.
A track record of launching high quality consumer experiences.
Deep experience working across org lines to build unified, end-to-end experiences.
