The hiring range for this role is:
$275,000.00 - $300,000.00

This job is also eligible for annual bonusincentivepay.

Founded in early 2023, Synergie Medication Collective is a medication contracting organization focused on improving affordability and access to prescription drugs covered under the medical and pharmacy benefits of nearly 100 million Americans. The role of CIO is critical to driving and operationalizing the organization’s technology strategy and objectives. This hands-on leadership role is involved in all aspects of technology ideation and operations including data and analytics, information security, software development, new product development, security, and risk management. The role leads efforts in business process optimization, guiding IT architecture and managing budgets and staff. In this Leader-Doer role, the CIO is responsible for day-to-day IT staffing and operations, including requirements analysis, planning, and design, and managing vendor relationships.
:Primary Job Functions
Define and implement a comprehensive multi-year technology strategy, vision, and roadmap in alignment with the organization’s digital business strategy while executing the 1-year operating plan to ensure the technology initiatives support Synergie’s long-term goals.
Design and build scalable, interoperable platforms integrating clinical, pharmacy, payer, and specialty drug data to enhance service delivery.
Ensure regulatory compliance with HIPAA, HITTRUST, and cybersecurity best practices to protect sensitive data and maintain client trust.
Establish robust data governance and management frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and usability across the organization.
Evaluate and make recommendations around technology investments and procurement that are supported by strong business cases. Select and manage technology vendors and partners to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Foster innovation by piloting AI/ML and advanced analytics applications. Identify emerging technologies to support the organization’s business strategy and ensure Synergie remains competitive and meets evolving customer needs.
Build a strong development partner to support scalable solutions and rapid response to market changes.
Run and maintain IT operations, including recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing IT and data team, vendor management, shared IT services, and security that drives strategic market advantages and can differentiate Synergy in a competitive landscape.
Education, Experience and Certification
Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS, or Engineering (Software, Systems, or Electrical)
Preferred:
Master's degree/MBA with IT concentration, M.S. in Information Technology, or M.S. in Cybersecurity
Experience
Required: 10-15 years of progressive IT experience, including:
5-7 years in IT leadership roles (VP and above)
Experience managing cross-functional teams
Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA)
Vendor selection and contract negotiation experience
Mapping technologies to business vision, strategy and roadmap
Experience in a start-up environment preferred
