Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, self-motivated, and intuitive communications expert and business advisor to join the Operations Internal Communications team. This role will support Amazon Robotics operations initiatives for frontline employees and Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) technician communications. The position will provide strategic communication counsel to executives by advising on programs, advocating for employees, driving thought leadership, and leading communications – including for executives overseeing the programs. This role will provide strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of topics, manage issues and change communications; and execute on employee communications, programs, and experiences. The ideal candidate will insist on the highest standards, be right a lot, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action and sense of ownership, distill information to find common threads between projects, and be energized by juggling priorities. They’ll keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate employee questions/reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies.
Key job responsibilities
• Earn trust, provide counsel, and effectively communicate with a range of internal stakeholders in the business and across the global corporate communications organization
• Develop innovative internal communications strategies, clear narratives, and tactics that engage frontline employees and leaders
• Lead development and execution of communications for new programs, policies, and changes
• Manage and contribute content for RME, aligned with operational goals
• Formulate a clear point of view on issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to address it (sometimes on-call)
• Raise the bar through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risk, impeccable judgment, and logic and care in decision-making
• Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job
• Exercise extremely high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.
