Key job responsibilities
The Inventory Supply Chain Planner is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, managing supply chain operations, and ensuring efficient product flow to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and maintaining service levels. The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for all activities related to demand/supply planning from production forecasts to finished good delivery including day-to-day communication and management of OEM partners, as it relates to planning and order fulfillment within assigned planning segment. This person has a business orientation and is responsible for working within the local and remote Operations team driving planning and order fulfillment. In this role, you will:
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
-Develop and maintain optimal inventory levels across all locations
-Monitor stock levels and implement reorder points
-Create and manage safety stock policies
-Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory
-Conduct regular inventory audits
Supply Planning
-Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
-Develop replenishment strategies
-Manage purchase orders and delivery schedules
-Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any gaps in supply plans preventing meeting order schedule
-Monitor supplier performance and lead times
-Identify and qualify alternative suppliers when needed
-Act as the primary liaison between the OEM and greater team monitoring, managing and driving the OEM to assure goals and schedules are being met within planning segment
Demand Planning
-Collaborate with sales teams to understand future requirements and forecast customer demand using historical data and market trends
-Adjust forecasts based on seasonal variations and market conditions
-Monitor forecast accuracy and make necessary adjustments
Analysis & Reporting
-Generate regular inventory reports and KPIs
-Analyze supply chain metrics and identify improvement opportunities
-Track and report inventory turnover rates
-Develop cost-saving initiatives
-Create executive summaries and presentations
Cross-functional Collaboration
-Work with warehouse teams to optimize storage and handling
-Coordinate with finance regarding inventory valuations
-Partner with logistics on transportation planning
-Collaborate with production planning teams to create master production schedule using the capacity plan, material clear to build report, and demand inputs
-Schedule and host meetings with manufacturing partners globally as required, reducing and eliminating shortages
-Work with Finance, Sales planning, Sourcing, Engineering and other teams to monitor and report budget
-Promote process improvement and standardization of across all sites in the network
