As a strategic leader, you’ll partner closely with product, creative, PR, sales, and marketing teams to influence roadmap decisions and translate complex features into clear, compelling customer value. Key job responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end product marketing lifecycle for high-priority smart home initiatives - owning GTM strategy, positioning, messaging, launch planning, and performance measurement
• Define and deliver the customer and business strategy, including goals tied to product adoption, awareness, subscription conversion, and engagement
• Extract and synthesize insights from customer research, behavioral data, and competitive analysis to inform positioning and influence product/feature development
• Develop bold, insight-driven GTM plans, including audience segmentation, value propositions, channel strategy, and messaging frameworks for both device and software experiences
• Drive launch excellence by partnering across product, PR, creative, sales, retail, onsite, and marketing teams to deliver coordinated, high-impact customer campaigns
• Influence partner team roadmaps by identifying unmet customer needs and market opportunities, shaping future product offerings and go-to-market approaches
• Evaluate performance of marketing initiatives with a strong grasp of customer experience and business outcomes (e.g., adoption, engagement, awareness, revenue impact)
• Represent the GTM perspective to senior leadership, including regular updates through MBRs, QBRs, and strategic documents such as PR/FAQs and long-term planning reviews
• Identify and solve cross-team gaps and blockers - negotiating resources, aligning roadmaps, and building scalable mechanisms to accelerate impact
• Build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, including product, business development, design, analytics, and executive leadership, with clear communication and strong influence
A day in the life
As a Product Marketing Manager on the Alexa Smart Home team, you’ll spend your days at the intersection of customer insights, product strategy, and creative storytelling. You might kick off your morning aligning with product teams to review upcoming features and ensure the roadmap reflects key customer needs. From there, you’ll dive into behavioral data or customer research to refine positioning for a new smart home capability, collaborating with insights and partners to uncover what resonates most with our customers. Midday, you could be leading a GTM working session with cross-functional stakeholders from PR, creative, and channel marketing to finalize launch plans and ensure campaign messaging is bold, aligned, and consistent across every touchpoint, from product detail pages to device placements to Alexa’s voice responses. In the afternoon, you might review creative concepts or email flows, evaluate performance of an ongoing campaign, or prepare a narrative update for senior leadership highlighting customer adoption trends and business impact. Every day brings a mix of big thinking and operational excellence, one moment you’re defining strategy to convert millions of customers to a new smart home subscription, the next you’re building scalable processes to streamline how we bring features to market. You’ll work closely with passionate, collaborative partners and have the opportunity to shape one of the most innovative and customer-loved experiences in the Alexa portfolio.
About the team
The Alexa Smart Home Growth team sits within the Alexa Product Sales and Marketing organization and owns the end-to-end customer journey, from driving device sales to marketing, connection to Alexa, and ongoing feature engagement. The team leads full-funnel marketing strategies that help customers discover, adopt, and deepen their use of Alexa in the home. Within the team, the Smart Home GTM group collaborates closely across functions and with external Alexa stakeholders to bring new hardware and software experiences to market. Together, we drive launches, scale adoption, and deliver measurable impact across Alexa Smart Home.
