The AWS Brick and Network Deployment (BaND) team is seeking a driven and skilled Technical Program Manager to lead AI Data Center and Network Capacity Planning, based in Herndon, VA. The AWS Brick and Network Deployment (BaND) team is seeking a passionate and skilled Technical Program Manager to lead AI Data Center and Network Capacity Planning, based in Herndon, VA. This role is instrumental in AWS’s mission to build resilient, scalable AI infrastructure.
As part of the Machine Learning Zone (MLZ) new build group, you will be responsible for deploying all AI network capacity to newly constructed AWS data centers. This includes driving the delivery of long-haul optical fiber, production networks, core routing infrastructure, and all critical network services required to launch and scale these facilities. You will manage complex project timelines, coordinate with gear install and cable teams, and ensure on-time execution aligned with capacity demand signals.
Your work will involve assessing demand requirements and available resources to define and execute optimal network delivery strategies. You will collaborate across AWS network engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to complete pre-requisites and improve infrastructure resource utilization and availability. This is a high-impact role that requires a strong blend of program leadership, technical understanding, and stakeholder coordination to deliver the AI backbone powering AWS’s future. As a TPM, you will coordinate with stakeholders to complete critical pre-requisites and deliver essential networking capacity. You will lead programs focused on improving infrastructure resource efficiency and work cross-functionally across AWS to ensure timely and effective data center capacity delivery.
Key job responsibilities
- Monitor the network health, customer demand, anticipate risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
- Work with stakeholders (networking engineers/tech program managers/senior management) to define requirements and processes.
- Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs needed.
- Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
- End to end responsibility for the program’s execution and success.
- Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
- Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvement/automated solutions.
- Keep the customer experience as the primary focus.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

The Brick and Network Deployment (BaND) team ensures data center network and port capacity is available for incoming customer racks (demand). Customer racks (also known as server racks) need this capacity (networking racks) to gain access to the AWS network to provide service capacity for AWS customers. TIPMs are responsible for coordinating with the Build’s Infra TIPMs, IDND, Optical NW team, and Supply Chain to ensure datacenter capacity in time.
