The Amazon Search team creates customer-focused search and advertising solutions and technologies. Whenever a customer visits an Amazon site worldwide and types in a query or browses through product categories, our services go to work. We design, develop, and deploy high performance, fault-tolerant distributed search systems used by millions of Amazon customers every day.
Our team is responsible for running large programs for Amazon Search including Rufus.
In this role, you (as a Principal Program Manager) will be leading a key initiative for Amazon Search to enable Off-Amazon Selection on Amazon (https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/retail/search-products-amazon-shopping-feature). You will drive the vision and requirements, and partner with teams across Amazon to deliver a product that helps hundreds of millions of customers. You will work across multiple Director and VP organizations to drive this critical initiative, with direct visibility to SVPs and the CEO of Stores WW.
To fulfill this role, you will need to possess strong program management skills and be comfortable to operate at scale, and will have experience in leading large cross-functional and cross-organizational products. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. High judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, and ability to remain calm are essential to succeed in this role. You will be joining a select group of people making history by building products that will be used by millions of customers across the globe.

A day in the life
• The person in this role will regularly coordinate and contribute writing to documents, including business reviews and change management proposals, that have VP level visibility.
• The person in this role will own the end-to-end lifecycle of a program from defining program requirements and launches to creating and enacting governance structures.
• The person in this role will facilitate difficult conversations among leadership and frequently surface hotly debated topics for resolution. They will leverage broad strategic influence to align teams and orgs toward simple, coherent approaches.
