We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are looking for an enthusiastic data engineer who is out of this world excited about technology, data security, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
Collaborating with GSC to accomplish building a secure and connected data infrastructure to help meet the data and reporting needs to report out to regulators world wide. As a data engineer you will be working closely with internal GSC teams to fit the various needs that reporting infrastructure will need to support across different verticals of the team to be able to build automated and dynamic reports that will support the team on a global level.
You’ll be working to design and build high-performance solutions that operate at a global scale. Your responsibilities will include working with stakeholders to build systems and pipelines to help support automated and manual reporting that are essential to Kuiper. You’ll participate in the full development life cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance. As a senior level position you’ll help to support mentorship of best practices and guiding principals as the team continues to grow and build infrastructure.
* Design, implement and maintain data infrastructure including data modeling, ETL pipelines, and ongoing maintenance. Using AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, Quicksight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark/Scala, Athena etc.
* Partner with various teams to build data pipelines from a wide variety of sources using AWS big data technologies (Lake Formation, Glue, S3, Redshift, Lambda, etc.).
* Build a data dictionary, catalog and governance plan and manage and audit all of the registered data via mechanisms.
* Develop automated solutions to minimize manual processes with focus on efficiency and scalability.
* Clearly communicate deep technical topics to customers.
This position may be based in Bellevue, WA, or Arlington, VA. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
