The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, all working to develop quantum computing technology capable of delivering value to customers. Our fabrication team is innovating to produce a core element of a quantum computer - the chip.
We are looking for a senior technical program manager to support our internal chip fabrication efforts. You will work with the management and technical leads of our fabrication team to plan, execute, and track a continuous stream of chip development activities. You will develop and maintain detailed multi-project multi-wafer production schedules. You will identify resource constraints and conflicts, and provide leadership with the data to make informed and optimized decisions.
This role will gather and assess the data (inputs and outputs) to push our fabrication team to run efficiently. You will partner with other TPMs and work across team boundaries and project lines to identify and unblock resource conflicts. You will leverage your experience in managing complex technical programs to make data-informed decisions at a programmatic level. In this role, you will also support the definition of technical project management standards across the Center of Quantum Computing. Additionally, as an experienced project manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping our general project management practices across the organization. This includes improving our general lifecycle approach for projects, while also increasing our ability to promote visibility of project progress to other teams and senior leadership. Familiarity with system engineering topics that intersect with project management, such as quantitative risk management, reviews, and requirements management is highly desirable.

Key job responsibilities
Produce and maintain detailed chip fabrication schedules (full chip, R&D, maintenance, new tool bring-up).
- From the data you will gather, you will identify milestones for new process integration into our process of record. You will work across team boundaries to ensure stakeholders are aware of risks/opportunities and timelines.
- From the data you will gather, you will identify and forecast resource constraints, opportunities and conflicts, which will be used to drive operational decisions in both our fab and across other interfacing teams.
- From the data you will gather, you will identify operational gaps and generate recommendation to improve operational efficiency.
You will work with stakeholders to define mechanisms that optimize the interface points to our fab (inbound designs, outgoing chips, feedback from as-built devices).
You will support fab and CQC leadership by providing programmatic support as required towards the development of any new fab facilities, onboarding or developing new tools, and sourcing materials to run our operation.
A day in the life
You will work with our team of scientists and engineers to plan, prioritize and track our chip fabrication efforts. You will work across our organizational lines to identify resource constraints, and develop tactical and strategic plans. In this fast paced environment, you will dive deep across interfaces to gather the data to develop mechanisms that drive efficiency. You will communicate progress to both stakeholders and management.
