The AWS Cross Domain Services team is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to design and build the services that connect AWS regions of differing security requirements.
An Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) is a collection of AWS regions provided for a customer with specific security requirements. The AWS Cross Domain Services team provides solutions for customers to move data between regions with differing security requirements. We are obsessed with earning and maintaining customer trust. AWS is building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world and the AWS Cross Domain Services team is essential to AWS’s dedicated cloud expansion. We need talented, adaptable engineers to help us implement and operate these complex systems.
As a Software Development Engineer on the AWS Cross Domain Services team, you will contribute to AWS regional expansion. You will interact directly with AWS customers to understand how to best meet their needs. You will build solutions that allow our public facing products to operate regardless of underlying cross domain hardware. You will directly contribute to designing and building cutting-edge distributed systems with visible impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of government services for our nation.

AWS Cross Domain Services includes more than 20 talented engineers across five two-pizza teams that operate as an entrepreneurial start-up. The team has successfully launched one AWS product and several features for ADC customers. The team will continue to delight ADC customers launch products, features, and region expansions to meet.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop dynamic web applications and the APIs that power them
- Design and code new APIs (Java) that support both web and programmatic callers
- Create backend systems that scale by leveraging NoSQL and SQL databases (RDS & DynamoDB)
- Deliver front-end website UIs (JavaScript, TypeScript, React), through creating and translating mock-ups into code
- Support the Region Services organization mission through the creation of tooling for AWS region builds, service expansion and feature tracking
