We're seeking a skilled IT Engineer to support our dynamic photo studio operations for Shopbop in Madison, WI. As well as provide ad-hoc support to the Corporate staff for other Amazon employees in the same building. This role combines hands-on technical support with strategic project management to ensure optimal performance of our photography production environment.
You will:
- Provide first-line IT support for photo studio staff, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and maintain photography equipment, workstations, and related technology infrastructure
- Lead and implement IT projects focused on improving network reliability, facility operations, and hardware deployments
- Collaborate with site leadership to identify technical bottlenecks and implement solutions that enhance productivity
- Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring minimal disruption to photo production
- Partner with Amazon's broader IT teams to leverage enterprise-level solutions and best practices
- Deploy new hardware and lead upgrades for site-wide equipment (laptops, networking, AV)

A day in the life
Your day starts with a quick systems check, ensuring all studio equipment is operational. As photographers arrive, you troubleshoot a connectivity issue on a tethered camera setup. Mid-morning, you lead a team meeting to discuss the upcoming network upgrade project. In the afternoon, you collaborate with Amazon's IT team on implementing a new cloud-based network management layer, providing the key inputs for your site. Throughout the day, you're the go-to person for any tech hiccups, ensuring the studio's operations run smoothly and efficiently.
About the team
You will be part of a small team of IT engineers focused on site reliability, but tightly aligned with sister teams of Systems Engineers and Software Developers who build the tools deployed at our site. You will have the chance to be the voice of your customer and influence what they build.
