As a Senior Fiber Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Avionics development lab. Your primary responsibilities will include building and testing complex fiber optics assemblies, opto-mechanical assemblies, lasers, and amplifiers. You will be tasked with providing innovative improvement strategies for our existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
A key aspect of your role will be supporting the development, prototyping, and failure investigations of fiber optics and opto-mechanical devices. You will also participate in test campaigns of optics and optoelectronics systems, ensuring they meet rigorous performance standards.
Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining high-quality, high-efficiency assembly lines within our laboratory environment. Your expertise in optimizing processes and workflows will be invaluable in driving continuous improvement across our operations.

A day in the life
This lab engineer will be a member of the Inter satellite Link (ISL) team with responsibilities of improving the manufacturing processes and methods necessary to reduce build time and increase throughput. In this role you will work in close contact with the design engineers, building and qualifying new designs, while supporting other activities as such as system test campaigns or manufacturing line troubleshooting and process improvements.

This lab engineer will have the opportunity to be a member of the Hardware Engineering team within the wider ISL team. This highly collaborative group of engineers has a diverse range of backgrounds and knowledge and is looking for help to build a scalable and reliable optical subassembly to power the next generation of for inter-satellite communications.
