AWS GCID (Global Capacity & Infrastructure Development) owns the design, planning, procurement, delivery, and operation of all AWS global capacity infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Our connectivity supports all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You use your expertise and knowledge of the Data Center and Telecom infrastructure business and its technologies to drive insightful discussions with leadership and can anticipate—and possibly influence—their program's future. You ensure the team’s Business Intelligence solutions are accurate, timely, accessible and actionable. You are able to take the lead on large projects that require the work of multiple persons. You know how to divide a BI project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other data professionals and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch.
You are a key influencer in team strategy. You take ownership of team infrastructure, providing a system-wide view and design guidance. You make things simpler. You drive BI engineering best practices; code reviews, syntax and naming convention, metric definitions, alarms and set organizational standards. You work to resolve the root cause(s) of pervasive or persistent problems; your efforts may unblock related teams. This may require you to influence decisions made by other teams.
